While we’re on the subject of electric cars, let’s also check out this little fella. It is the Peugeot iOn and if it looks familiar to you that’s because it’s based on the Mitsubishi i-MiEV that you’ve seen tons of times. Well we say based on, but actually it is the i-MiEV with Mitsubishi badge removed and Peugeot’s installed. Another car to be derived from this genius solution is the Citroen C-Zero.
So it has the same specs as the Mitsu, which means its all-electric powertrain will give it a top speed of around 150 km/h, and it has a range of 90 miles or roughly 150 km on a full charge. As for the performance, well naturally you don’t expect much! It does 0 to 50 km/h in 5.9 seconds which is awful and then 10 seconds later you might be able to pass 100!
Pricing for the Peugeot iOn will be also the same as the i-MiEV, near as makes no difference 30,000 euros. It does comes with five-year warranty for its battery pack.
