Bmw i100 Coupe ActiveHybrid
There are rumors of a new electric sports car, which will be named BMW i100 Coupe ActiveHybrid.

It is believed that this model is designed to rival Audi’s e-Tron and will be launched in 2013.

Sources say that the car will use a three-cylinder direct injection engine, delivering between 165 to 185 hp, and two electric motors (which give an extra 100 hp). The car gets a limited range in electric, of about 50 kilometers.

Reports of the arrival of the Vision EfficientDynamics concept turning production version in 2014 sprouted at the start of the year. The engine-motor configuration, which will be installed onto the i100 Coupe ActiveHybrid, is exactly what debuted in the Vision EfficienDynamics Concept at the 2009 Frankfurt Auto Show.

These specs enable the model to sprint from zero to 60mph in 4.8 seconds, and hit a maximum electronically-limited speed of 250 km/h (155 mph). BMW claims that its fuel consumption is 3.7 liters/100 km and that it has CO2 emissions of 100 grams/km in the EU test cycle. The source adds that BMW aims to sell over 35,000 units of the i100 Coupe ActiveHybrid, with each having a price tag of around €100,000.
