Honda has officially revealed the all new Step WGN. The standard Step WGN and its Special-needs version went on sale yesterday while the Spada editions of both models will hit the market on October 23rd in Japan.

The fourth generation Step WGN is motivated by a 2.0 liter i-VTEC engine featuring DBW (Drive-By-Wire) technology. The engine can be paired with either a CVT (continuously variable transmission) or a 5 speed automatic transmission.

Buyers can also choose between front wheel or all wheel drive configurations. The latest 8-seater Step WGN has features like ECON mode, which regulates the engine and transmission to help conserve fuel, Eco Assist, with multiple functions that encourage fuel-efficient driving including a guidance function that gives the driver real-time feedback on the fuel-efficiency of his or her driving practices, Active Front lighting System (AFS, points the headlight units in the direction of the turn), Hill-Start Assist, side-view support mirror (shows road surface conditions up to 7m in front of the left-front wheel which is instrumental when parallel parking or navigating narrow roads) and a multi-view camera system.

Safety features of the MPV with a flat low-floor and low centre of gravity are highlighted by an Advanced Compatibility Engineering (ACETM) body structure, Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBSTM) with seatbelt E-pretensioners (driver and front passenger), driver-side i-SRS airbag system with continuously staged inflation as well as front-seat i-side airbag system (equipped with passenger seat positioning detection system) and side-curtain airbag system (rows one to three).

The Special-needs version is offered with either an automatic side lift-up seat or a passenger lift-up seat. The cargo area, which is large enough to accommodate a wheelchair, comes equipped with a net for securing a wheelchair and a protective cover. Pricing for the Step WGN starts from 2,088,000 yen while the Spada version starts from 2,458,000 yen. The Special-needs version can be yours for 2,638,000 yen.
