Infiniti offers a peek at its droptop G37 ahead of the L.A. Auto Show.
Infiniti has released pictures of the upcoming G37 convertible ahead of its November debut at the L.A. auto show.
Chopping the top didn’t ruin the G37 coupe’s sexy lines—this is a striking convertible. The G37 convertible uses a three-piece retractable hardtop, the better to compete with the BMW 3-series convertible, which employs a similar setup. If anything, the G’s roof should make for better top-up structural rigidity versus a cloth top. Now that the Infiniti G is offered in sedan, coupe, and convertible models, it’s an even closer competitor to the benchmark 3-series.
Even with the added weight and reduced rigidity of its convertible body, the G37 convertible is sure to serve up excellent dynamics. The convertible is powered by the coupe’s 330-hp, 3.7-liter V-6, which will mean ample acceleration, although it’ll likely be slower than the coupe.
Pricing has yet to be announced, but, like the sedan and coupe siblings, we expect the G37 convertible will be less expensive than a comparable 3-series when the new G goes on sale in February.
