Official: Hamann SLS AMG Hawk

Hamann SLS AMG Hawk
German tuner Hamann has released their take on the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG. The gullwing re-birth is wrapped into a car body design coloured in Everose Gold and some ‘decent’ enhancements.

The Hamann engine department has put some additional power reserves into the V8 engine. The core part of the power enhancement is the exhaust system made out of titanium.

In combination with new manifolds, sports catalysts and a sports air filter, the 6.2 liter also got a new exhaust tune. The ECU upgrade complements the package and ensures the performance of 636hp and a maximum torque of 680Nm at 4,850rpm. In race start mode, the two-seater accelerates from 0 to 100km/h in only 3.6 seconds and with a top speed of 320km/h, the Hamann Hawk surpasses the basis model.

The Hawk front apron replaces the serial bumper. Larger air inlets are combined with new LED lights units. In addition, the enlarged air inlets provide better access for the engine’s increased need for fresh air. Subsequently, the air is drawn out of new bonnet made of checkered flag carbon. The wheel arches, 60mm on each front side and 70mm on each rear side, are massive and striking. Side skirts make the two-seater look lower. The rear wing is made of checkered flag carbon. The new rear apron with the diffuser enhances the air flow under the bottom of the car and provides room for four end pipes each measuring 90mm in diameter.

Hamann has outfitted single-part lightforged wheels named “Unique Forged Anodized” in 21 inches. These are fitted in 9Jx21 with tyres measuring 245/30 ZR 21 at the front and 12.5Jx21 with tyres measuring 345/25 ZR 21 at the rear axle. The coilover kit has been equipped with four height-adjustable dampers and four progressively wound springs. The center of gravity can be lowered by up to 30 millimetres.

The interior of the SLS has been changed as well. Leather and ultra-suede, applications and embroideries replace the serial interior. The air inlets, door sill protectors and center console are made of checkered flag carbon. Black anodized aluminium pedals and a new steering wheel finish the refinements.

The Hamann SLS AMG Hawk will make its official debut at the Geneva Motor Show starting on Tuesday. Stay tuned for the first live pictures of the brand new Hamann program for the German gullwing sports car.
