Mercedes-Benz ML63 AMG

Photographers have recently caught the next generation Mercedes-Benz ML63 AMG being tested around the Nurburgring area.

Although it is heavily camouflaged, it’s easy to tell that this is the AMG version of the upcoming ML Class.

Large wheels hide big crossed-drilled discs and large calipers. There’s also big air intakes in the front supported by an aggressive chin spoiler.

The 2012 AMG ML Class is expected to use the new 5.5-litre twin turbo V8 which will also make an appearance in future AMG cars. The engine is known to produce 426kW and is likely to be matched to the AMG Speedshift MCT seven-speed gearbox.

Although the new engine will displace 5.5 litres, reports say the ‘ML63′ badge will remain.

At the rear there’s a simple twin exhaust outlet which is thought to be a prototype-only setup. AMG enthusiasts needn’t worry about the production version not retaining the traditional quad outlets we’ve become used to.
