US Saab Automobile AB dealers are running out of new cars as the Swedish sports-car maker Koenigsegg Group AB conserves cash and prepares for the release of a new model.

Koenigsegg Group signed a deal to buy the troubled Saab brand from General Motors Co. in August.

Saab has slowed its production to retool its Swedish factory to build the new 9-5 sedan starting next year, explained spokesman Eric Geers. The company said last week it will cut 37 percent of its US dealers.

The first 10 months of Saab sales dropped 62 percent to 7,441 cars in the US, and the automaker sold only 513 units in the US last month.
