2010 Chevrolet Agile

General Motors is currently working on a replacement for the aging Chevrolet Aveo but the automaker’s Brazilian division has just released a new compact car that may provide a hint as to what to expect for the North American model due sometime next year. Called the Agile, the latest compact hatch will go on sale in the Brazilian market this October.

According to the press released accompanied with today’s reveal, the Agile has a new global visual identity for the Chevrolet brand, highlighted by two air inlets clearly marked on the front, converging to the golden bow-tie logo.

Development work was completed fully by the Center for Development of Vehicles in Brazil, located in Sao Caetano do Sul and Field Evidence of Cruz Alta (CPCA), Sao Paulo. However, other markets that will see the new compact include Argentina, Paraguay and Uruguay, with production taking place in just Argentina and Brazil.

As for the North American Aveo-replacement due next year, All Small Cars reports that styling will be influenced by the smaller 2011 Chevrolet Spark and compete with the upcoming 2011 Ford Fiesta.
