Hyundai Motors India Limited launched the LPG model of Accent in India. The new model has been named as “Accent Eco” and can run on both petrol as well as LPG. One of the striking features of the new model is the use of ‘Torodial’ design that allows intelligent use of space which leaves a lot of space free for the luggage at the back of the car.

The factory fitted LPG kit is approved and certified by the Department of Explosives (DoE) and the Automotive research Authority of India (ARAI), the country's premier automobile testing and certifying authority, the company said in a statement.

“The LPG version will only add to the appeal of the Accent, as it will not only be cheaper to run and maintain but is also eco-friendly,” said managing director H.S. Lheem. "Earlier we had introduced Accent with a CNG kit and our customers found it to be a really attractive proposition. The LPG version will only add to the appeal of Accent, as it will not only be cheaper to run and maintain but also eco friendly," he added.

The new model is powered by 1.5 liter petrol engine with five speed manual transmission. It is Rs. 35,000 costlier than its petrol model and costs about Rs. 5.3 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
