Trinamool chief Mamata Banerjee has given the Buddhadeb government in West Bengal a 7-day ultimatum to implement September 7 agreement of giving 400 acres back to the farmers in Singur.

Mamata plans to approach the PM Manmohan Singh and the President Pratibha Patil to demand the imposition of Section 355 in the state.

She also has plans of holding public rallies in Singur and Kolkata on September 25 and 26.

Mamata's ultimatum comes on a day when Buddhadeb Bhattarcharjee has appealed to the opposition to withdraw agitation at Singur and allow work to start at the Nano plant under peaceful circumstances.

He has also warned that further delays may force the Tatas to exit West Bengal.
