Some 100 Nanos a day will be built between October and March of next year at Tata’s Pantnagar plant in Uttarakhand, located in northern India, with production to be doubled in April09.
The company is all set to move their plant out of Singur in West Bengal they cannot resume work in Singur.
Amidst growing uncertainty over the Tata Motors' Nano project taking off at Singur, a meeting between West Bengal government and the company's officials will be held here on Sunday 28th Sept.
Inspite of problems in Bengal,company hopes to begin limited production at their other plants in the country.
Tata Motors said in a statement: “The Nano car will roll out between October and December as promised.”
Tata Nano when launched would become the cheapest car in the world. The company aims to price the base model at Rs. 1 lakh ex-factory though it would cost a bit more in the market.
