KUALA LUMPUR: Mitsubishi Motors Malaysia Sdn Bhd is aiming to sell 50 units of its latest high-performance Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution sports sedan this year.

Chief executive officer Keizo Ono said the four-door sedan was the Japanese carmaker’s flagship and rally-inspired model which had received good response in all markets that it had been offered in.

“Even at the pre-launch stage, we have already received 30 bookings for this model,” Ono said at the launch of the model last week.

Besides sporting a powerful 291bhp tubo-charged 2.0-litre Mivec engine, the Lancer Evolution has a new six-speed twin clutch transmission, an all-wheel drive system, traction control system, 18-inch alloy wheels, seven airbags, a sunroof and bi-xenon headlights which turn at corners.
