2011 Mercedes-Benz C 63 AMG

The 2011 Mercedes-Benz C 63 AMG Coupe has made its local debut at the 2011 Australian International Motor Show in Melbourne.

The all-new C 63 AMG Coupe will be officially launched in Australia in September, joining the C 63 AMG Saloon can Estate models in the upgraded mid-sized sports car range.

Powered by AMG’s 6.3-litre V8 engine, the C 63 AMG Coupe will produce 336kW of power and 600Nm of torque, leading to a 0-100km/h sprint time of 4.4 seconds (the quickest C-Class on the market) and an electronically limited top speed of 250km/h.

Optioned with the AMG Performance Package, power jumps up to 358kW and the Coupe’s sprint time is shaved down to 4.3 seconds.

The AMG SpeedShift MCT seven-speed automatic sports transmission is standard, and features five different driving modes: Controlled Efficiency, Sport, Sport plus, Manual and Race Start.

The Race Start feature brings the engine to optimum start-up speed for perfect, wheel spin-free launches. The transmission will continue to shift autonomously all the way to 250km/h in this mode if the driver so desires.

The suspension in the AMG Coupe is unique, with a three-link front setup, reinforced multi-link independent rear setup and a wider track all round. The brakes are also a specially tuned high-performance AMG package.

A comprehensive collection of Mercedes’ driver assistance systems are also offered including Adaptive Highbeam Assist, Active Lane Keeping, Active Blind Spot, Attention Assist, Distronic Plus, Parktronic with guidance, PreSafe brake system, and many more.
