India's auto segment is booming like never before. As you gear up to buy a new car this Diwali, here is a list of the dream machines that will blaze Indian roads in the next two months.

Maruti Suzuki Kizashi

Expected launch date: November 2010

Estimated price: Rs 18 lakh

Maruti Suzuki Kizashi means 'coming up of something great', and this is in line with the company's aspirations to launch itself into the sedan segment.

Kizashi is targeted to compete with cars like Volkwagon Passat in India.

Kizashi's statistics makes it smaller than Honda Accord and Toyota Camry.

It has 183-inch overall length and width measuring 72-inch supported on a 107-inch long wheel-base.

It has an upscale interior with standard sporty seating.

Volvo XC60

Expected launch date : November 2010
Estimated price: Rs 38 - 45 lakh.

The Volvo XC60's launch will mark the Swedish carmaker's foray into the competitive compact luxury SUV segment.

The vehicle will be imported as a CBU (completely built unit), and Volvo may bring either or both - a 2.4-liter turbodiesel engine and a 3.2-liter petrol-powered AWD model featuring all the safety and technological gadgetry it's reputed for.


Hyundai Avante

Estimated price: Rs 11 lakh

Avante is expected to be launched in both diesel and petrol with 5 speed manual or 6-speed automatic transmission.

The petrol model will be powered by a 1591cc DOHC CVVT engine which generates maximum power of 118 Bhp at 6200 rpm with maximum torque of 156 Nm at 4200 rpm.

The diesel one will be powered by a 1582cc CRDi engine which generates maximum power of 115 Bhp at 4000 rpm with maximum torque of 260 Nm at 1900 rpm.

It would be pitted against Toyota Corolla, Honda Civic, Chevrolet Optra, and Skoda Octavia.

The Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X is powered by a newly designed 4B11T 2.0 liter (1997cc) turbocharged, all-aluminum inline-4 cylinder engine pumping out 280 PS (205.9 kW; 276.2 hp) on the JDM version.

Mitsubishi India enjoyed a good sales figure with the original Lancer which it sold a few years back in poetrol and the diesel versions.

Nissan Sunny

Estimated price: Rs 700,000

The Nissan Sunny was launched in 1966 as Datsun 1000 and remains in production today, principally for the Asian, African and American markets.

In the US, it is known as the Nissan Sentra.



Toyota Etios

Expected launch date: December 2010
Estimated price: Rs 450,000 - Rs 700,000

Toyota Etios is expected to offer power steering, power windows, remote central locking, dash integrated music system, rear defogger, rear wiper/washer and various other features offering maximum comfort to the passengers.

The high end models of Etios will also feature ABS (Anti-lock Braking System) and EBD (Electronic Brake)

Skoda Yeti

Estimated price: Rs 17 to Rs 18 lakh

The robust yet compact Yeti tackles all terrain with ease, thanks to the permanent 4-wheel drive and the off-road mode as well as the automatic 6-speed DSG (Direct Shift Gearbox).

Estimated price: Rs 150,000 to Rs 200,000

Maruti Cervo is another compact car which is all set to pass Alto and Wagon-R.

It is a five door mini car that comes with 54bhp power in the front and 660cc patrol engine and 64Nm of torque.

The engine of Maruti Cervo offers peppy performance with great fuel efficiency.

The Maruti Cervo's interior looks like new Maruti Swift.

Maruti Cervo has comfortable front semi-bucket seats, sporty headlamps and fog lamps.
