The famous Italian design studio IDEA (Institute of Development in Automotive Engineering) has released new information and images of its new in-house design concept, interestingly named ‘Sofia’ which is officially going to be unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show this March.

Normally car companies like to tempt and tease with a few trailers before their goods are up for grand displays at motor shows. But Italian design house IDEA thinks otherwise or is, perhaps a little too shy. Details and images of the new hybrid concept are so scant that it leaves many to ponder if IDEA is bothered at all.

All that we have now are three computer generated images and the name which is up for speculation amongst car lovers. It is an all new sporty four-door premium sedan with a hybird power train and an amazingly classic design that pays homage to Italianity in terms of shape, look, elegance and name too! According to sources from the Italian design house, the new 4-seater sedan sports concept will be an instant hit and easily and instantly recognizable by its unique “Italian styling and beauty”.

The Swiss International Auto Show hosted IDEA’s first appearance after a decade-long hiatus with the 2-seater sports car ERA Concept in 2008 to celebrate its 30th anniversary. IDEA is behind the successful launch of Tata Safari and Tata Indica.
