Porsche 911 Turbo S

A new 196mph range-topping Porsche 911 will be unveiled at the Geneva motor show next month.

With power raised to 530bhp and a 62mph acceleration time of just 3.3 seconds, the new Turbo S is aimed at building on the reputation of the 911 Turbo.

Costing £123,263 and on sale in the UK from May, the S has the model's traditional six-cylinder "boxer" engine boosted by two turbochargers.

Despite delivering 30bhp more than the standard Turbo model, the newcomer is claimed to return an identical EU Combined fuel consumption figure of 24.8mpg. The Turbo S produces 516lb ft of torque.

Standard fare on the S, which will be sold alongside the Turbo model, includes a seven-speed Porsche Doppelkupplungsgetriebe (PDK) double-clutch transmission together with steering wheel-mounted paddle shift levers, transmitting power to the Porsche Traction Management (PTM) all-wheel drive system.

The S also gets a mechanical limited-slip rear differential.

Stopping power comes from Porsche Ceramic Composite Brakes (PCCB), with other equipment including 19-inch RS Spyder design wheels with centre lock nut, adaptive sports seats, cruise control and two-tone leather upholstery.

A cabriolet version of the new Turbo S will cost from £130,791. It goes on sale at the same time as the coupĂ©.
