BMW has announced that along with a small visual freshening of the 3-Series for 2011, a new model will be introduced. According to Autoweek, the 335iS will become BMW’s new attainable sports car, slotting above the existing 335i but below the M3. The 335iS takes the already speedy 335i and adds some engine tuning to make it even faster.

The 2011 BMW 335iS uses the existing 335i’s twin-turbo 3.0-liter inline-six engine and bumps power to 326-hp and 332 lb-ft of torque. The 2011 335iS will also feature an overboost function that will bring torque to a tire shredding 369 lb-ft for a short time. The 335iS will have a top speed of 150-mph.

For 2011, the BMW 335i will ditch the twin turbo setup it currently uses and switch to a twin-scroll single turbo. BMW says that the 300-hp 2011 335i coupe and convertible will be able to do 0-60 in 5.3 seconds with the six-speed manual or 5.5 seconds with the automatic. Both models will be electronically limited to 130-mph.
