Infineon Raceway is hosting two annual benefit events this week, with the High-Speed Blood Drive taking place from 1 to 6 p.m. this Thursday, Sept. 24, and the Classic Sports Racing Group's sixth annual Charity Challenge being held this Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 26 and 27.

This weekend's sixth annual Charity Challenge will feature vintage car-racing, with all the proceeds from the event benefitting Speedway Children's Charities, the charitable arm of Infineon Raceway. Over the last five years, the Classic Sports Racing Group has generated more than $400,000 for SCC.

More than 200 vintage racecars will grace the road course and will feature some 600-plus horsepower CanAm Series cars. There will also be more than 200 vintage open-wheel, production and sports-racing cars from the 1930s through the '70s. The groups will feature many well-known marques, including Ferrari, Aston-Martin, Porsche, Alfa Romeo, Shelby, Corvette, MG and Jaguar. There will be a special selection of classics for sale and viewing. For a $75 to $100 donation to Speedway Children's Charities, race fans can take a thrilling, three-lap ride around the world-famous road course with one of the competitors in a historic CanAm sports racer or other vintage car. All passengers must wear close-toed shoes, long pants, long-sleeve shirts and a helmet, which can be provided. You must be 16 years or older to participate in the ride-around.

The Charity Ride-Arounds will run on both Saturday and Sunday and are on a first-come basis, so plan to arrive early.

Weekend pass cost is $20 for adults and $10 for youths 16-to-20-years-old. Children ages 12-and-under and parking are free.
