Tata Nano has been launched and it has received a tremendous opening. Lakhs of people have applied to get their hands on one of the units.

Maruti Suzuki has been the undisputed king of the small car market till now. The company now faces massive competition from the Tata Nano.

Maruti has their M800 model that is priced at around Rs. 2 lakhs. It used to be the cheapest car in the country but now it turns out to be an expensive deal compared to the Tata Nano.

Market sources say that the company is now planning to bring to India a 660cc car. This could become the first challenger to the Tata Nano.

Suzuki already has a 600cc range of models including the Cervo Mode and the Alto in Japan.

Sources say that the company is also considering upgrading the engine of their Omni MUV to make it Bharat 4 compliant so that it can be sold in the Indian market for more years.
