The Ford Fiesta was launched in 2005 as a successor to the brilliant Ikon. The car was launched with three engine options namely a 1.6 and a 1.4
litre petrol accompanied by a 1.4 litre oil burning unit. The car was an immediate success with both the petrols high on efficiency and performance and the diesel offering excellent economy.
Come 2008 Ford rejuvenated its Fiesta lineup. The car gained sharper looks thanks to the redesigned headlights with the tail lamps receiving subtle changes as well. The 1.4 litre petrol version was axed and out came a 1.6 Sport version replete with side skirts spoiler, 15 inch alloy wheels, remapped ECU and a tweaked suspension.
The interiors were spruced up too with fresher looking fabrics and minor changes to the console. What has not changed however though is the way the Fiesta drives. With a 101PS on tap the car is an absolute driver's delight with that revvy engine mated to the super slick gearbox.
Around the twisties too the Fiesta's brilliant chassis and suspension combination comes to the fore giving the car amazing dynamics. Fuel efficiency is on par with the competition with the Fiesta giving 11 kmpl. A family sedan with sporty intent pretty much sums up the Ford Fiesta 1.6.
