Tata chief, Mr. Ratan Tata expressed hope that Nano would hit the roads as per its schedule. Ratan Tata: Nano To Come In Market At TimeHe said that the company is trying its best to complete the task in time.

He maintained that all the hurdles would be removed and mass production of Nano would begin very soon.

The statement by Tata in the sidelines at the annual convention of the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers raised hopes of resumption of work at Singur. The company is facing stiff opposition in Singur by opposition parties of Bengal.

Mr. Tata said that the input cost is rising day by day to produce the world’s cheapest car Nano. He seemed under pressure from price rise side. Union commerce secretary G K Pillai stressed the collective need of developing a mechanism to complete and retain the project.

He said that the state government should pay the appropriate compensation to the affected farmers to resolve the stand off. Other top Tata Motors officials including Managing Director Ravi Kant did not comment on the issue of resumption of work at Singur plant. Tata Motors got support from various industry houses on the Singur plant issue. Industry players hailed the stand taken by TATA on Nano plant issue.
