A LOWER Gornal garage sales director says he is over the moon at becoming the first garage in the western world to take delivery of the new MG sports car.
Following the return of the car production to Longbridge, Summit Garages in Himley Road has become the official MG dealer for Birmingham and the Black Country.
Sales Director’s John and Nick Newey were on hand to welcome the vibrant orange coloured TF LE500 sports car to its forecourt, with a price tag of £16,399.
John said: “The car left the production line at 11am on Thursday morning, we were not only the first garage in the Black Country to get it, but also in the UK.
“But when I thought about it we were also the first in the western world.”
Only 500 of these cars have been produced by Longbridge, in six vibrant colours including the vivid orange colour - intense blue, raven black, graphite grey, crystal white and scorched red.
The car has already received a lot of interest from car enthusiasts and people are invited to the garage’s open day’s this weekend to view the car and put it through its paces with a test drive.
John added: “I’m over the moon at getting it and at being the only MG dealer in the Black Country.
“Hopefully I should be getting another two to sell. I’m an MG enthusiast myself, and I would love one. It’s great to be getting MG back on the road again.”
